Jeffrey S. Carter, PT, MBA

Jeff has been a licensed physical therapist for 40 years since graduating from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Kean University. Jeff also received his MBA from Grand Valley State University. His diverse background in acute care settings, rehabilitation centers, sports medicine, and in general orthopedic private practice allows him to treat all ages and surgical and non-surgical patients with expert care. Jeff once served as a regional manager of a large rehabilitation company, was the headache specialist at Mary Free Bed, and successfully managed five freestanding outpatient physical therapy practices.  Then in 2012, Jeff decided to open Apogee Therapy Center to provide physical therapy in Grandville, Michigan, along with other select therapy treatments.

Jeff has studied extensively with the IAOM (International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine) and combines 40 years of practicing manual therapy, and completed over 50 continuing education course work with a functional medicine based approach to become a healthcare leader in West Michigan. He is known in Grand Rapids for his skill in successfully treating spinal conditions including the treatment of acute and chronic headache, low back and pelvic pain. Jeff has extensive training, skill and experience in manual therapy, treating orthopedic, sports and work-related injuries.

He understands the special needs of the aging population as he served as a therapist in various long-term care centers utilizing his training in balance and ambulation recovery techniques. Jeff then utilizes his knowledge of Functional Medicine as an approach in his physical therapy treatments. He treats utilizing: Complex Manual Therapy Techniques, Comprehensive Therapeutic Exercise, Postural and Body Mechanical Training, Dry Needling, Cupping and other forms of Manual Medicine Physical Therapy.

In his personal life, Jeff is married to Sharon, his lovely wife of 45 years. He is also a father of four and grandfather of five. In his free time, Jeff is active in outdoor activities such as boating, hunting, cycling, landscaping and he loves to build things! And finally, Jeff loves Jesus Christ and seeks to serve Jesus in all aspects of his life. This gives Jeff his passion by aiming to honor God through serving his patients, staff and all who come visit Apogee Therapy Center. 

Jeff transferred ownership of Apogee Therapy Center over to his son David Carter, PT, DPT and his daughter-in Law , PT, DPT on 1-1-2026 and he is confident they will be fantastic and bring Apogee to the next level!!!
